We both lay on the kitchen floor
The only coldness that lies on our bodies this summer night
And the full moon blooms outside of the window
The ceiling fan swinging until infinity

Our silent moments
I try hugging you and with your feet, you kick
Kick me away
And run run run
Around the apartment
No sound except for your footsteps and the crickets

You nibble on my hands
Playful biting
Wagging your tail endlessly
A black and white cloud
With paws that forever roam

Loneliness is dead
Here we lay
With an unspoken bond
You’re man’s best cure
You ugly mutt.
