hunger

in a room with
windows facing west
catch the fog in your
mason jar and close
the lid real tight.
don’t let the feeling
escape you.
when will you board
shut the sun and
release the pocket lint
from your bones?
i told you once
you’d never be hungry
reset the static
in your eyes
to play only when
swing sets creak
trying to reach out
their chains to the
uninterested sky.
you will wilt here,
trying to catch
the light.
